Wade & Silverstein Declares Victory on Behalf of Former Inmate December 20 , 2007 - Wade Litigation (San Jose, CA ) December 20, 2007- The Silicon Valley Law Firm of Wade & Silverstein declared victory yet again on Thursday. The latest victory involved the settlement of a case in which the firm was seeking to recover millions of dollars on behalf of its client. The firm's client was a doctor who had served time in prison for over 20 years. While inside prison, the doctor appointed his former friend to act as his attorney in fact pursuant to a durable power of attorney. The former friend was asked to manage all of the doctor's financial affairs while he was in prison. When the doctor was released from prison, he began to discover facts that led him to believe that his former friend may have misappropriated some of his money while he was in prison. Without a lot of proof to support his claim, the doctor retained Wade & Silverstein for help. After being retained, the firm conducted its own investigation and subsequently filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit on behalf of the doctor. On Monday, the case went to trial and the parties began to select members of the jury. After three days of trial, the Defendant decided to settle the case. He asked that the terms of the settlement remain confidential. After the case was over, Amiel L. Wade stated "this is a very good day for our client. He is very pleased with the outcome in this case. We believe that justice was fully accomplished." The firm asserts that it the leading black owned law firm and minority owned law firm in California.
