(Sacramento, CA) — April 8, 2026 —Yuri Voronin of Wade Litigation secured a favorable resolution on behalf of his client in a civil action pending before the Sacramento County Superior Court. Voronin represented the defendant in a lawsuit alleging intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress arising from a long-standing family dispute.
The plaintiff filed the civil action while the parties were already involved in ongoing family law proceedings related to custody and support. The defendant initially defended the case without counsel before retaining Wade Litigation.
After substituting into the matter, Voronin successfully defeated a motion filed before the firm was retained and obtained the withdrawal of another pending motion. Early settlement discussions were unsuccessful, after which the firm filed a strategic motion for judgment on the pleadings and served targeted discovery intended to support the defense and position the case for summary judgment.
Following continued litigation pressure, the plaintiff agreed to resolve the matter through a mutual settlement and release. The agreement included a bilateral waiver of all civil claims and attorneys’ fees and costs. Voronin’s client paid no money in settlement, and the plaintiff dismissed the case with prejudice.
The resolution allowed the Voronin's client to avoid further litigation and significant legal expenses while fully resolving the civil action. Due to the sensitive nature of the dispute and related family law proceedings, the client’s identity has not been disclosed.
