Wade Litigation Secures Dismissal of DVRO Petition

Colusa County, CA, December 2, 2025 — Attorney Ryan Romero claimed yet another victory Friday after he was able to get a DVRO petition filed against his client dismissed.

The woman who filed the Petition against the firm’s client had initially secured a temporary restraining order that limited Father to supervised visitation to twice per week.  The petition relied primarily on a May 2025 incident and general claims of emotional abuse. The petitioner later added additional allegations in a supplemental declaration.

After being retained, Romero went to work and prepared documentation and arguments in support of his client’s defense (and prepared for trial).  On the day of trial, Romero was able to get the case dismissed because it had been filed in the wrong county.

When mother refiled in the correct county, a new trial date was set. Romero once again went to work and presented evidence supporting Father’s defense (and demonstrated that Mother’s safety concerns were not consistent with the facts). After seeing what she was up against, the woman agreed to dismiss her petition resulting in increased custodial time for the firm’s client.

When asked how he felt about the outcome, Romero stated: “Our approach ensured the court received the full picture. Once the evidence was reviewed, it was clear that Father deserved increased custody and the  dismissal of Mother’s DVROs was appropriate.”
