About me
Alyson Overton practices in the firm’s Family Law Group. After graduating from Indiana University, Allysyn taught high school English for three years, where she realized her ambition for family law. Listening to her students open up about their families’ legal issues called her to the field. She graduated Indiana University School of Law in 2009, and moved to California.
Allysyn Overton
In 2011, Allysyn opened her own California family law firm and also began working at a pro bono child custody project in San Francisco. She eventually became the supervising attorney of that program, while still maintaining a successful practice, until she had her child in 2018. Allysyn has practiced all over California in the field of family law. Allysyn understands that the type of issues that arise in family law are complex, stressful, and even depressing at times. That’s why she works hard at ensuring her clients feel heard, supported, addressed, and that their goals are always aligned.
Allyson has handled well over 1000 cases, and applies a great deal of interpersonal intelligence to her practice, keeping her clients well-informed of their legal rights, litigation steps, and everything in between, while keeping a keen eye on her clients’ general wellbeing.
In her spare time, Allysyn enjoys going on adventures with her daughter, exploring the Philippines, learning other languages, throwing pottery, and playing with polymer clay and resin. She is also a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community.mmunity.
