The dispute arose after the decedent’s parent indicated an intent to contest Wade Litigation’s client’s claims to the estate despite the parties having registered as domestic partners in the county of their residence. According to the opposing party, there was no direct legal authority supporting the client’s ownership claims under the specific circumstances presented in the case.
