Wade Litigation Secures Defense Judgment in Fraud Case

(Placer County, CA) February 11, 2025 – Yuri Voronin of Wade Litigation secured yet another victory.  The latest victory occurred in Placer County Superior Court, where the firm successfully defended a client against allegations that its client participated in an investment fraud scheme that purportedly resulted in losses of approximately $185,000.

The plaintiffs had alleged that the defendant, along with her husband (who was not represented by Voronin), engaged in a Ponzi-style investment scheme. When Voronin first took the case, his client was in default and had essentially lost the case.  The first action that Voronin took was to file a motion to set aside the default, which was successful.  Voronin then vowed that he would defeat the case on behalf of the client. After contested litigation, Voronin filed a motion for summary judgment, arguing that the claims against his client lacked both legal and factual merit.

After reviewing the filings and hearing the arguments of counsel, the Hon. Michael W. Jones ruled in favor of the firm’s client, granting summary judgment on all causes of action. The ruling avoided the need for a trial and brought an end to more than a year of contentious litigation.

The victory has been secured as a result of detailed legal briefing and persuasive arguments presented by Voronin.

When asked how he felt about the result, Voronin stated: “I’m very pleased with the outcome. By prevailing before trial, we saved our client a lot of money and took away unnecessary stress.
