Eric Schattl is an experienced attorney with an extensive background in civil litigation. His practice has included a range of areas such as automotive warranty, real estate, securities, medical malpractice, and consumer law. With a commitment to client advocacy and a focus on legal strategy, Eric has gained extensive experience in all phases of litigation, from motions practice and discovery to settlement negotiations and trial representation.

Mr. Schattl possesses an extensive and diverse legal background, encompassing a wide array of roles and responsibilities. In private practice, he has managed complex civil litigation, including class actions and product liability cases, demonstrating expertise in civil trials, depositions, motions practice, and large-scale document production.
Beyond private practice, Eric’s career notably includes significant experience as a public interest lawyer. He led teams in healthcare law and policy at Maryland Legal Aid and Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County, overseeing direct services and impact litigation. Additionally, he gained considerable courtroom experience as a Public Defender in Baltimore, Maryland, focusing on post-conviction proceedings and successfully vacating a conviction.
Mr. Schattl earned his Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law, where he was a recipient of a Merit Scholarship and contributed to the Duke Law Journal of Gender Law and Policy and the Wrongful Convictions Clinic. He also earned a Master of Public Policy from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, where he received a Distinguished Teaching Award and was a Luskin Center for Innovation Fellow. Mr. Schattl completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA, earning a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in English. He is admitted to practice law in California and Maryland.
