Attorney Yuri Voronin Secures Motion to Quash Victory

(Santa Clara, CA) — June 25, 2026 — Yuri Voronin of Wade Litigation secured a significant victory in Santa Clara County Superior Court after the Hon. Rafael Sevilla-Jones granted a Motion to Quash service of process on behalf of WORLD TECH CO., LTD., a Japanese corporation sued by a California company in a contractual dispute.

The plaintiff attempted to serve the process through the registered agent of a separate Florida corporation, arguing that the Florida entity qualified as a “general manager” for the Japanese company. After his retention, Voronin believed that the service was improper. Subsequently, he challenged the attempted service, arguing that the Florida entity was not authorized to accept service on the client's behalf and that the service failed to comply with California law and the Hague Convention.

Following briefing and oral argument, the Court agreed with Voronin and granted Wade Litigation’s Motion to Quash service of process. The ruling now requires the plaintiff to determine whether to attempt formal service in Japan pursuant to the Hague Convention or reevaluate continuation of the litigation in California.

Voronin was assisted by Wade Litigation paralegal Stephanie Femino, whose litigation support and case preparation contributed to the successful result. When asked about the outcome, Voronin described the ruling as “the best possible outcome under the totality of the circumstances,” noting that the plaintiff must now decide whether to attempt service of process in Japan or reevaluate continuation of the litigation in California.
